A law firm stepped in to bake cakes for Kingston Hospital’s cancer fundraising coffee morning today.
When hospital staff were unable to get the cakes from their usual supplier, staff at Colemans ctt in Kingston High Street came to the rescue.
The coffee morning raised money for Macmillan Cancer Supports services which include nurses at the Sir William Rous unit at the hospital.
Trainee solicitor Brooke Desai, 28, who, said: “We had a vote to pick a local charity and everybody picked Macmillan Cancer because I think everybody has somebody who knows somebody affected by cancer.
“We went down to the Kingston Hospital and set up. The Willy Rous unit was fantastic.”
Ali Jinnah, of Macmillan Cancer Support, said: “They were so generous and wonderful and came in the morning with all these lovely cakes.”
A Macmillan mobile information unit was outside the Bentall Centre in Kingston town centre this morning.
