A charity that supports people with learning disabilities is expanding.
Odyssey Care, based in Wandsworth, is moving into new premises in Battersea Studios.
The organisation has come a long way since it was first set up as the Wandsworth Homes Association by a group of caring local residents 15 years ago.
Today it is a subsidiary of the Brandon Trust, a similar but larger charity which provides support to people with learning disabilities in Wandsworth, Southwark and Croydon.
Brandon chief executive Lucy Hurst-Brown said the move on October 14 reflected “the charity’s modern personal approach to supporting people with learning disabilities” in their own community.
She said: “We hope it will increase our presence not only in the local area but across the whole of London.”
Ms Hurst-Brown added because of all the work involved with the move, the charity would be unable to handle routine enquiries from October 14 until the reopening on October 18.
