A drug dealer has been sentenced to four years in jail.

Kieron Poole was found with nearly 28g of heroin when he was searched by police on May 10 last year.

The 22-year-old was in a minicab in Honeybrook Road which was stopped by police.

Poole, of Poynder Gardens, was heard frantically telling the driver to drive away. The driver revved the vehicle, causing the officers to hold on to it as it drove away before they jumped for cover.

Eventually the vehicle was stopped and although Poole attempted to escape, he was detained.

At Inner London Crown Court on Friday he was jailed for four years.

Detective Constable Alalasundaram of the Omega Team, responsible for drugs and firearms, said: “This conviction would not have been possible without the bravery and tenacity of the officers that initially tried to stop the vehicle and then ensured that it was stopped, leading to Poole’s arrest.

“The sentence imposed by the courts shows how seriously they take the commercial supply of controlled drugs.

“Lambeth Omega team will continue to target those concerned in drug supply, to reduce the misery that it brings into the local community.”
