A man accused of murdering his wife at their home in Forestdale, has appeared in court.

Gary Brockwell, 48, appeared by virtual court in front of magistrates at Camberwell Green Magistrates' Court yesterday, charged with killing mother-of-two Gaynor Brockwell.

Police were called by the London Ambulance Service to the property in Osward, Courtwood Lane, at 5.25am on Saturday, after reports a woman was suffering assault injuries.

Paramedics tried to revive the 46-year-old, but she was pronounced dead at the scene.

A post-mortem examination found the cause of death to be asphyxiation.

Mr Brockwell was remanded in custody to re-appear at the Old Bailey on October 12
