A woman who died after falling from a first floor flat on to a pavement in front of a strip of restaurants has been named as Frances Murray.
The 57-year-old died from serious injuries on Monday, November 14, after she fell from a balcony at an address in the Heart, Walton, the previous evening.
An investigation has been launched by the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) because Mrs Murray had called police twice that evening and police had attended the address.
They were called at 8.35pm on the Sunday and she fell at 9pm.
IPCC Commissioner, Mike Franklin, said: "We are investigating police actions and Mrs Murray’s contact with the police control room over a short period of less than hour prior to her fall on the Sunday evening.
"Our investigators have met with Mrs Murray’s family and our thoughts are with them at this difficult time."
