A trio of young performers got a taste of the big time as they starred in a rock music video.

Youngsters Sonny Doherty, Freddie Hardy and Dylan Bradshaw from the Croydon Pauline Quirke Performance Academy, Wallington grabbed instruments and took centre stage in the filming of the video for Too Much Too Young, by up and coming London band Bad Wolf.

Sonny, 11, of Purley, Freddie, 14, of Coulsdon and Dylan, 12, from Crawley played young versions of the band members as part of the shoot, at The Cavendish Arms, Lambeth on Sunday January 8.

Sarah Harris, dance teacher at Pauline Quirke and sister to the band’s lead singer Simon Harris, said: “Simon asked how you go about finding young actors and I suggested rather than go through agencies, giving my kids a go.

“During the Christmas period they were acting Roald Dahl stories and I surreptitiously used that as the audition. Of course we also wanted boys who looked like the band members, but I was looking for talent, and we had three great candidates.”

The video, due to be released in Spring on YouTube and music television channels such as MTV, sees the boys performing in front of screaming fans and is aimed at showing how young stars can struggle with instant fame.

Mr Harris, who with Edward Batchelor on bass and Mathias Upton-Hansen on drums makes up the band, said: “The school has been very supportive with this and see it as a great experience for the kids.”
