Roads have been reopened after a serious road traffic collision in Ewell this morning (Tuesday, January 10).
The smash happened at about 4.40am on Cheam Road when a green Honda Civic collided with railings opposite Ewell East Railway station.
Epsom fire fighters attended the scene and the driver, a man in his 40s and the sole occupant of the vehicle, was cut free from the car.
He was taken to St Georges Hospital in Tooting with serious injuries. Road closures were in place along Cheam Road, Station Road and Banstead Road while emergency crews attended the scene and the vehicle was recover.
Roads were reopened at about 9.10am this morning.
