Tooting-based rapper and former I’m A Celebrity contestant Aggro Santos will face trial this summer for two counts of rape.

Mr Santos, real name Yuri Santos, appeared at Chichester Crown Court on Thursday, January 5, that his case would begin on August 13.

Another man, named as 21-year-old Tyrell Ritchie, will also face trial in August - both men are charged with raping a woman at The Ship Hotel, in Chichester, on May 7 last year.

The Brazilian-born rapper is also charged with the rape of another woman in Yeovil, Somerset, between September 24 and 27 in 2010.

Mr Santos, of Bickersteth Road, and Mr Ritchie, from Lambeth, deny the charges - both men were granted conditional bail by Judge Claudia Ackner.

Santos became a star at the age of 18 when he was a regular hit on UK Urban and Grime channel AKA, which launched his music career.

Further success came for the 23-year-old in 2010 when his debut single Candy reached number five in the UK charts.

He then became more widely known when he appeared on ITV’s I’m A Celebrity... Get Me Out Here! In which he finished sixth.
