Life threatening injuries for Purley crash victim
A woman is in hospital with life threatening injuries after being struck by a car with a two year-old boy.
The woman, believed to be 68, sustained head and hip injuries after being hit on Brighton Road, Purley at about 8.30am this morning.
Police were called to the scene and a driver was arrested in connection with the incident.
The woman and child, who sustained a minor hand injury, were treated on the scene before being taken to St George’s Hospital, Tooting.
Police remain at the scene and the top end of Purley High Street remains closed to traffic.
