Police are investigating after a car was set on fire near Gipsy Hill station last night.
Fire crews from West Norwood fire station were called to Rusholme Grove at 8.45pm and found the Vauxhall Zafira on fire.
A spokesman for the fire station said a woman believed to be the car owner was treated for shock but no other injuries were reported.
He said residents saw a group of people running away from the burning vehicle.
“[The car] was popping and banging for a while- there was quite a lot of heat,” he said. “We are trying to ascertain who the perpetrators were. Some witnesses saw some people running away.”
