Tributes have been paid to the chairwoman of Croydon Council's tenant and leaseholder panel, who died earlier this month.

Liz Reeves, who had been on the panel for eight years, was particularly well known to the residents of Shrublands where she had been a tenant since 1984.

She first became involved in the local community when she started attending her local residents' association meetings, and in 1999, she was successfully elected chairwoman of the association.

Chris Stock, Resident Involvement Manager at the council said: "I recall the days when Liz attended the Shrublands Residents' Association meetings.

"She was very vocal and made sure the officers acted on their promises to sort any problems out.

"In all her subsequent roles she has kept officers on their toes but at the same time built good relationships with front line officers, senior managers and councillors.

"Liz will be greatly missed by all."
