An woman in her 90s was hospitalised with life-threatening injuries after a car crash.

The pensioner, in her 90s, was in a stable condition at St George's Hospital, Tooting, as we went to press.

Police are investigating the incident, which happened at about 11.45am between Cobham and Leatherhead on Friday, January 20.

The woman was a passenger in a grey Peugeot 207 which careered off the A245 and rolled on to its roof.

The male driver was treated at the scene for minor injuries at the scene.

The road was closed for several hours at its junction with Stoke Road and Cobham Road, as well as its junction with Oaklawn Road.
