The woman is in a serious condition
A woman is in hospital following a serious assault in Croydon last night.
Police were called to George Street at about 11.40pm, to reports of a person collapsed.
London Ambulance were also called to the scene and their staff treated a woman who was taken to a south London hospital.
Her condition is believed to be serious, but not life threatening.
Police are investigating the incident.
