Through your paper I would like to thanks the many people, of differing ages who came to my help in the pouring rain at about 10am on Thursday, January 19, when my car broke down as I was entering the service road leading to the car park next to the Sainsbury’s in Morden.
Most of these kind people disappeared before I had a chance to thank them.
But special thanks to the young man about to embark on a new career with the army, who went out of his way and got very wet trying to obtain further assistance for me.
An incident such as this restores one’s faith in human nature and makes one realise that, despite all the bad news we hear, there are still many more good people than bad around - my heartfelt gratitude to all of them.
