A Croydon schoolgirl and her friend joined ten thousand hopefuls to audition for Britain's Got Talent.

Brooke Ramsay and Ellie Radford, queued for four hours at the Kia Oval in Kennington on Sunday, to perform their street dance routine in front of the show producers.

The pair both nine, were keen to pursue their dream of being on the talent show and were delighted when they were invited to audition.

The girls who perform under the name Rocking Ice, spent all day Saturday preparing for their audition.

After making up the routine themselves, were helped to perfect their choreography by a professional dance teacher.

Brooke, who attends Purley Oaks Primary School, said: "It was really good, we got it all in time. I will be so pleased if we get to do another dance."

"We will be really grateful, but it will be much harder."

Ellie, who lives in Biggin Hill added: "I love to dance and I found it really great.

"We had to put a lot of work in and at first I was really nervous, but I think it did go well."

The girls will have to wait until the end of February to find out whether they have made it through to the next round, but Brooke insists she would not be scared to face Simon Cowell if Rocking Ice made it on to the show.

She said: "He can be nasty but I think inside he is really caring and loving. I think he will really like us because we exaggerate our moves."

Brooke's mum Claire said the girls badgered her for months to submit an application to the show, but the pride at seeing them dance was more than worth it.

She said: "It went so well, they looked fantastic. We were really proud and had tears in our eyes just watching them dance and seeing the talent they have."
