A Marie Curie Cancer Care volunteer has sponsored the home shirt of Crystal Palace's Kagisho Dikgacoi.

Karen Green volunteers for the charity and has a long-standing relationship with the Eagles.

She is funding the sponsorship personally and Dikgacoi was happy she chose him.

"I am delighted that Karen Green from Marie Curie Cancer Care has chosen to sponsor my home shirt," he said.

"As a Crystal Palace player, I am very aware of the support the club gives to the charity.

"Just before Christmas, I was pleased to take part in a photocall to promote the work of the nursing care service over the festive period and I am always inspired by the brilliant care the Marie Curie nurses provide.

"I hope everyone is inspired to raise money for Marie Curie Cancer Care – every pound really makes a difference."

Marie Curie nurses work through the day and night providing care, support and relief for patients and their families.

It costs £20 to pay for one hour of nursing care.

The charity provides high quality nursing, totally free, to give people with terminal cancer and other illnesses the choice of dying at home, supported by their families.
