A grandmother had her neck slashed by a former boyfriend who then left her in his flat The Old Bailey has heard.
Lorna Smith, 45, from Hewitt Close, Shirley was killed in a flat in Brixton Hill in February 2 last year.
Clifford Mills, 49, was arrested the following day after attending St Thomas Hospital, Southwark and was charged with her murder.
Appearing at The Old Bailey on Thursday January 26 the court heard Mrs Smith was found on the floor of Mills’ apartment with a plastic bag over her head.
Mrs Smith, a Sainsbury’s worker had lived in Hewitt Close for more than a decade.
She is believed to have ended her four-year relationship with Mr Mills prior to her death.
