A shed masquerading as a tattoo parlour has been shut down by police.

Officers raided a back garden in Carshalton on Thursday (February 16) after a tip-off from a neighbour.

Locals shed light on the back-street parlour in Tintern Road, allowing police to swoop.

No arrests were made but police seized two diaries and a tattoo design book as well as business information. A warrant was issued under the London Local Authorities Act 1991 which covers special treatment premises including tattoo parlours.

All tattoo parlours and their operators must be licensed by the local authority.

Sergeant John Withersby said: "If anyone has any information about this tattoo business, or have been a customer of this business, then we would like to hear from you."

Police and Council enquiries are continuing.

You can contact Sutton Police station on 101. Alternatively, you can contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
