Dozens of students and teachers walked from Hyde Park to Tooting on Saturday to raise funds for the education of two Rwandan girls.
About 80 walkers from Burntwood School, in Burntwood Lane, Tooting tackled the 8.5km walk, including principal Helen Dorfman.
They were joined by Ladi Dariya, who was able to go to school thanks to funding from Burntwood during the 1980s.
She now works for the Commonwealth Countries League Education Fund, helping people in the UK to sponsor the education of young people in the Commonwealth.
Linda Kalimba, first counsellor of the Rwanda High Commission, gave a speech before the team set off.
Walkers sported t-shirts designed and printed at the school, as well as a banner created by the school's art department.
About £150 has been raised so far.
