The father of the driver of the crane spoke of the pain he still suffered because of the loss of his son.
Joe Cloke, father of Jonathan, told the jury his son was a fan of outdoor sports and liked to “work hard and play hard”.
He said: “Words like devastated do not really describe how Jonathan’s death affected us.
“Parents do not expect to outlive their children.”
