Firefighters at the scene in Sutton this morning
Smoke seen coming out of a Sutton video store today was from a security alarm, not a fire.
A concerned resident dialled 999 shortly after 8.30am after spotting the smoke in Blockbuster Video in Sutton High Street.
Firefighters went to the store to investigate.
A "smoke cloak" alarm had activated, designed to fill the store with smoke to to disorientate burglars during a break-in.
It had activated by mistake.
The store is open as normal.
