A former television broadcasting studio could be demolished and turned into 50 new homes.
Developers Barratt Homes plan to transform the Brycbox House site, in Cocks Crescent, New Malden, into a block of 40 flats and 10 houses, with space for 56 cars, 44 bikes and communal and private gardens.
Kingston Council received seven objections to the development, which raised concerns over increased traffic and congestion, loss of privacy, the effect on local infrastructure, pollution, noise, and overdevelopment. The developers said from the 50 properties 10 were proposed as affordable, which are broken down as six shared ownership apartments and four houses for affordable rent.
The new complex will include one, two, three and four- bedroom properties.
The application is due to be considered by the council’s Development Control Committee who will decide whether to give it the go ahead at a meeting on Thursday, March 22.
