Police are appealing for witnesses after a woman was viciously mugged for her phone opposite a retail park.

Three people, one of them a woman, approached the victim on Atlantic Road, Brixton, near the Argos store, at about 9.15pm on Monday, March 5.

As she made a phone call to arrange a lift home, they began attacking her and one man pushed her hard in the back. She fell to the ground, hitting her face on the pavement.

The group then stole her phone and ran off towards Coldharbour Lane.

The victim sustained serious injuries to her face and was taken to a south London hospital by ambulance.

Lambeth Police are keen to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time who might be able to identify her attackers.

One suspect is described as a slim white woman, 5’4”, in her early 30s, wearing a brown puffer jacket with the hood up, shoulder length blonde hair and blue jeans.

The others were both thin black men, in their early 20s. One was 5’9” and was wearing a dark green jacket and dark jeans, while the other was 5’7” and was wearing a brown puffer jacket with the hood up and blue jeans.

No arrests have been made and officers continue to investigate.
