A man had a lucky escape after he was hit by a van while crossing three lanes of traffic outside Kingston bus station.
Cromwell Road was closed for about 90 minutes after the collision at about 9.40pm on Friday, March 16.
The man, in his 30s, was taken to St George’s Hospital, Tooting, with a head injury but was discharged the next day.
Witness Simon Harris said he saw the man in a neck brace on a spinal board being given oxygen.
He tweeted: “This happened in the middle lane, halfway down the road. Think he got away quite lightly considering.”
London Ambulance Service sent two crews and an air ambulance doctor in a car.
A spokesman said: "Our staff treated one patient, a man, who was taken to St George’s Hospital with the air ambulance doctor on board.
“He was suffering from a head injury."
A police spokesman said following an investigation the driver of the van had been summoned to court for a traffic related offence.
