NHS Surrey has issued a reminder to people about where to go for health advice over the Easter period.
Some services will be affected by the bank holiday and it is important to know where to go.
Pharmacies can offer advice on a variety of everyday health problems, so were often a good place to start, and the Surrey GP out of hours service was available when GP practices were closed.
Walk in centres and minor injury units help with slips, trips and other injuries that were not life threatening.
Helen Atkinson, public health expert at NHS Surrey, said: “If you’re not sure where to go NHS Direct offers confidential health advice over the phone and online 24 hours a day.
“It’s important that people remember accident and emergency and 999 should only be used in an emergency. Using them for minor health problems puts other people’s lives at risk.”
