Some of the Croydon's brightest young dancers dazzled judges as they competed to perform at a showcase at London’s Southbank Centre.
Teams from nine Croydon secondary schools took part in the Step into Dance Croydon Borough Event, on March 28.
The best performers will be picked to dance at Ste Live 2012 at the Southbank Centre in July.
Sue Goodman, Step into Dance programme and artistic director said: “All of the schools participating showed fantastic community spirit and put on a show-stopping performance.
“Their hard-work and determination has really paid off after months of rehearsing. “It’s going to be so tough to narrow them down; it’s a truly exciting time for us all.”
Schools involved included Coloma Convent School, Harris Academy Purley, Norbury Manor Business College, Quest Academy, St Marks Church of England Academy, Thomas More Catholic School, The Priory School, Cricket Green, and Perseid School.
