A charity concert featuring the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra will be held in Beddington Park this summer.

Music in the Park, held in the grounds of Carew Manor by the Rotary Club of Carshalton Beeches, is in its 21st year.

Over the years in the region of £300,000 has been donated to over 70 different charities and organisations through the musical event.

This year, the orchestra will play music to celebrate Her Majesty the Queens Diamond Jubilee, The Olympics and to remember the loss of the Titanic 100 years ago.

The evening, sponsored by the Sutton Guardian, will kick off to the sounds of renowned tribute band 21st Century Stones celebrating 50 years since the formation of the Rolling Stones. The Orchestra will be conducted by the ever popular Brian Wright, Tenor David Butt Philip will perform, and the evening will end with a magnificent firework display.

Principle beneficiaries this year will be Jigsaw4u, Sutton Young Carers and the Wave Trust, all of whom are local charities dedicated to various aspects of child hardship. All tickets, standard, gold and silver went on sale this month with discounted standard tickets for early purchase.

Gold tickets include a buffet supper, reserve seating for the concert and VIP parking in the Manor grounds.

Silver tickets include a picnic hamper with wine and reserved seating. Tickets are priced at £18.50 before June, £22.50 during June and £25.00 on the day. They are on sale at libraries and shops in the area, online at the web site carshaltonbeechesrotary.org.uk, or by phoning the credit card ticket hotline 0844 870 0803 (5p per min).
