Europe's finest quilt makers were in town to display their handywork.

A quilting exhibition at the Europa Gallery in Sutton Library gave quilters from Sutton's Twin Towns a platform for their work.

Quilters from Gagny in France, Wilmerdorf in Germany came to Sutton to show their Myths and Legends-themed creations.

The exhibition also featured works from the Lavender Girls and SCOLA Quilters from Sutton College and Learning for Adults.

The Mayor of Sutton, Councillor Gerry Jerome, opened the exhibition of over 80 quilts on April 19 with 100 guests in attendance.

The Quilters from the Twin Towns also enjoyed a visit to the Royal School of needlework at Hampton Court Palace and a reception held by the Twin Town Association during their stay.
