Mental health charity faces increased demand
A mental health service is being forced to expand in order to meet increased demand in Sutton.
The Association for Pastoral Care in Mental Health (APCMH) has run a befriending scheme for more than 20 years in order to help adults with mental health problems in Sutton and surrounding areas.
APCMH currently helps care for 40 people, and while the scheme successfully acts as a means of developing social skills and preventing isolation for those suffering from mental illness, it is being forced to actively seek volunteers in Sutton because of a growing number of referrals.
