A 36-year-old man was stabbed to death on the Roundshaw estate in Wallington this morning.

There are at least three crime scenes cordoned off on the Roundshaw Estate.

Police were called to reports of an assault in Typhoon Way at 4.05am. The body of a man, with multiple stab wounds was found in nearby Redford Avenue where he is thought to have collapased and died.

A second man who had no injuries was arrested in Defiant Way on suspicion of murder.

A flat on Typhoon Way has been cordoned off and it is believed that the victim lived there.

There are police tents on Mollison Drive, one on Redford avenue and a cordon across Typhoon way and part of Defiant Way.

There are a series of numbers put in place by the police leading from one crime scene to another.

One neighbour said: "I heard shouting at about 5 in the morning but by the time we got to the window all the police were there."

Another person said: "I've lived round here for years and I had no idea that had happened till I woke up this morning.

"It's so sad- apparently a man has been stabbed - it's awful."

The police cars and sirens this afternoon were actually for a kid that went missing ( I was there, heard it on police radio). The victim didn't die in mollison drive, the article is correct with the details

Man died in Redford Avenue by Avro Way, I was also told 2 Murders but according to report the tents in Mollison Drive were for evidence so dont know, the Police including Plain Clothes were all over Redford Avenue this morning, before anyone has a go at Roundshaw can I just say, there have been less than 5 murders in almost 50 years! compare that to Sutton, the so-called "Civilised" town.

My Heart goes out to the family of the man that has died. I know what lies ahead for them. Brings back awful memories for me too. Lets just hope that justice is served on the 'person' or 'persons' responsible for this poor mans death. R.I.P

Oh my god, the comments! Does it matter what road it was, or how many tents there are, or how many police cars, police officers there are etc!! SOMEONE HAS DIED!!! Its like chinese whispers, maybe less of the rubbernecking and wait for the actual truth to be established and reported on. Then feel free to comment.

I go to Wilson's school just opposite, we saw both tents, my friend saw the body being taken into an ambulance at lunch...
I think the mark on the map is a bit out of place for typhoon.

PS 1: I agree with miss cat

PS 2: Is it true he was stabbed with a cleaver, that's a rumour going round right now...

I used to live on Roundshaw in the 60s and 70s, it used to have a terrible reputation then but I used to go out and about-even at night, and never saw any trouble- unless of course it happened elsewhere or in the early hours of the morning - and I was a young teenager didn't move to Beddington till well after my 17th birthday

Does it matter what kind of weapon he was stabbed with ? There will b many rumours flying around and that's exactly wat they are! Rumours! We, the family know the truth and u will soon too, at the moment we are trying to comfort 3 boys who were supposed to be seeing there dad today !!

And yet for the future victims of this type of crime the Powers That Be are in the process of closing down St. Helier Hospital Major A&E Department so for those who are hanging on to life still, the paramedics will have to get them through the traffic to Tooting or Croydon to join the queues there.

I totally agree with you, it really dosent matter what was used all that matters is that 3 lil boys now have no daddy. My deepest sympathys go out to the family and those poor children. Ppl need to remember that underneath all the gossip and rumours, a family is grieveing makes me sick leave them alone, and stop asking sickening questions about details of this horrific crime!

People should stop gossiping. Only the people involved know the truth and who says any of them were behaving in a nice way or it wouldn't have happened. The lynch mobs should shutup and let the truth come out in the right way. The whole thing is sad and there are more than 3 children suffering. Justice doesn't exist in this sad situation for anyone involved.

Roundshaw will never be the same without you xx god bless Damon x R.I.P angel xx
