4:10pm Tuesday 12th June 2012 in News By Matt Watts
Lanterns covered the night sky over Roundshaw airfield in memory of Wallington boxer Lewis Pinto
Scores of sky lanterns were released on Saturday night by friends and family of boxer Lewis Pinto.
The lanterns lit up the night sky as they were released at 10pm from Roundshaw Airfield in memory of the 24-year-old who was found dead on Sunday, June 3.
The former bricklayer, a former Thomas More Catholic School pupil in Purley, is believed to have killed himself.
Police are not treating his death as suspicious.
Hundreds of people attended the event on Saturday evening to remeber the boxer, from the Roundshaw estate.
After the tribute, Jordan Max, wrote on Twitter: "The night was shining bright just for you tonight, sleep tight champ."

It was a beautiful evening, something we will never forget. We lit the skies for you and you answered back with your beauty.
At the memorial in Roundshaw Park I looked up into the sky through the leaves of 'the tree' and I saw one bright star shining above us. I knew it was you. The one star in the sky that will shine forever.
This isn't goodbye.
See you later Lewis.
You are always in my heart
