Baby squirrels were rescued by Riverside Animal Centre
Two baby squirrels are being hand raised at Riverside Animal Centre after they were rescued from the side of a road.
Pip and Peach were both found in Ross Road in Wallington within a week of each other.
The animal centre in Beddington Park was twice contacted earlier this month by concerned residents who had found the tiny creatures.
They are thought to be aged between three and five weeks, and had become separated from their mothers.
Jess Bickerstaff, wildlife unit manager, said the animals were being kept in a heated cage, to simulate the temperature of a nest, and would eventually be released back into the wild next Spring when they were strong enough.

Russian and Polish people who hang out round the Seven Island Pond on Mitcham Common should note that it is NOT OK to kill and BBQ the wildfowl which has recently occurred. Apart from breaching the by-laws it causes huge cultural offence to the native English population.
