Carshalton man James Joseph Warren jailed in Swansea after conning £38k out of football fans
A fraudster who faked vintage FA Cup tickets and sold them to unsuspecting collectors has been jailed.
James Joseph Warren, 57, from Carshalton, was jailed for 15 months at Swansea Crown Court last week.
Warren used his printer to copy football tickets and other memorabilia to dupe £38,000 from unsuspecting punters.
Pre-war FA Cup final tickets including ones from Bradford City and Manchester United were sold to avid supporters across the UK.
An investigation by Dyfed-Powys Police in Wales found that the prolific fraudster had been conning people of amounts of up to £2,000 at a time.
PC Neil Davies said: "This sentence sends out a clear message to criminals who commit these types of offences. Fraud is a serious crime and can have a devastating impact on its victims - and we will not tolerate it."
