Stacey-May Buncher jailed after street attack
A woman has been jailed for five years after an attack on a woman that left her needing reconstructive surgery on her jaw.
In an unprovoked attack, Stacey-May Buncher, 26, punched and kicked her victim in the street in Wrythe Lane, Carshalton on Friday, October 14, 2011.
Buncher punched and kicked the woman and continued the attack even after she had fallen to the ground.
The 46-year-old victim had her jaw broken in two places. She remained in hospital for four days while four plates were fitted and her jaw wired.
She lost most of the feeling in her lower lip and was told it may take up to two years for her injuries to heal completely.
Buncher told police she had been drinking at an address in Wrythe Lane where she was living at the time of the incident.
She had had a row with her boyfriend before going out into the street.
She told police she was grabbed from behind and attacked so she retaliated in self defence.
Buncher, of Mill Lane, Carshalton, was sentenced at Croydon Crown Court on September 7 after being found guilty of GBH with intent.
