Car smashes into railings in Malden Road, North Cheam
2:10pm Tuesday 18th September 2012 in News By Sophia Sleigh, Reporter
A car smashed into some railings in North Cheam.
The incident happened at 2.30pm on Monday, September 17, at the crossroads on Malden Road.
John Hall, the chairman of the North Cheam Traders Association, said: “It is significant because Sutton Council is having a de-cluttering programme and are currently carrying out a safety survey to see whether or not these railings are necessary.
“Any pedestrians on this quite narrow pavement at the time of the accident would have undoubtedly been in peril had the railings not prevented the car from mounting the pavement.”
