Carshalton and Wallington MP Tom Brake hosted an online surgery via Facebook and Skype
Tom Brake hosted his first online surgery on Skype this week.
The Carshalton and Wallington MP hosted his first of a series of regular online advice surgeries via Facebook and Skype.
It is an initiative as part of the MP's efforts to engage with local residents and provide them with a simple medium to raise their concerns from the comfort of their own homes.
Tom said "It was an intense hour, but I was delighted to see so many local residents taking part and thrilled by the quality of their questions and interventions.
"Many asked about the frontline services at St Helier hospital, affordable housing and how the Government was supporting businesses."
"The number of users speak for itself and MPs should not ignore Facebook as a way of communicating with local residents.
"Online surgeries are unique because they not only allow constituents to ask questions privately, but also allows them to post questions publicly and generate discussions with other participants."
