A football tournament was held in memory of a man who was killed by a drunk driver.

Steven Moore, 25, died from serious head injuries after a car being chased by a police van smashed in to his car at a Carshalton junction on January 17, 2010.

Mr Moore was returning home from watching his team play with best friend Glenn Purvey in girlfriend Rhia Vassallo’s car when the crash happened.

His killer, Kirby Harty, 29, from Clapham, was more than twice the drink-drive limit when he smashed into the Mr Moore’s Renault Clio in Wrythe Lane.

Last year Mr Purvey and Miss Vassallo organised a six-aside football tournament and decided to do the same this year at Wandgas FC’s grounds in Worcester Park.

The aim of the event on Saturday, October 13, was to raise money for Headway which supports people affected with brain injury.

As well as football there was a BBQ, a raffle and lots of kids activities.
