Followers of fashion looking to standout from the crowd scoured the stalls for some one-off treasures at the launch of a vintage market.
The opening of The New Vintage at the Living Bar in Coldharbour Lane, Brixton, saw scores of people buying clothes and trinkets from more than twenty London-based designers.
The event was accompanied by music from Clapham’s Swing Patrol and a DJ set by Skinny Jim from Islington’s Club de Fromage.
Some traders, including market founders Amber Smyrniadis and Jude de Berker, sported mock moustaches to raise cash for prostate cancer charity Movember.
Ms de Berker said: "It was a great opportunity for visitors to purchase directly from the makers.
"People were supporting local artists, whilst enjoying a unique shopping experience and learning about the origin, process and stories behind the wonderful things on offer."
The market will be held again on December 10. For more information visit newvintagebrixton.blogspot.com.
