Dragons’ Den star Theo Paphitis has given a Richmond Business Award winner a Twitter boost after retweeting their message to his thousands of followers.

Francesca Gubbay, one of Stamptastic’s owners, tweeted Mr Paphitis about her business during Small Business Sunday, an initiative set up by the TV dragon, and it was retweeted to his 442,000 followers.

The business saw their Twitter followers surge and orders for their personalised stamp sets doubled.

The company is also profiled on a new website which is exclusive to small business Sunday winners.

Ms Gubbay said, "We work part-time around our children and busy home lives and our office is still [co-owners] Emma’s kitchen table.

"It is great to have support from Theo because it’s been tough trying to raise our profile and Theo has recognised our hard work and helped spread the word about what we do to his following."

Under the initiative, Mr Paphitis retweets six businesses every Monday at 8pm and are invited to enter their profile on his new website.

Stamptastic won the coveted People's Choice Award at last year's Richmond Business Awards, voted for entirely by the people.

You could also be in with a chance of winning this award, by simply encouraging your customers to vote for you.

There is also still time to enter yourselves in one of numerous categories, ahead of the Richmond Business Awards ceremony on Friday, October 17, this year being held at the RFU in Twickenham.

The deadline for entering is 9am on September 15, so there is little time left.
