A local business that helps disabled people needs support to go through to the final stage of a national award.

Yourlocalcinema.com, a Carshalton-based company that runs a website providing information about subtitled and audio described film screenings taking place around the UK for people with sight or hearing problems, needs votes to go through to the National Lottery Awards final.

The website went through to the semi-finals among five other south London businesses, on the Best Arts Project category. The winner receive national recognition on a BBC 1 TV show later this year, and a £2,000 cash prize to spend on their project.

The National Lottery Awards recognise the difference that Lottery-funded projects make to local communities.

Voting for the semi-finals started on Monday and ends at 12pm on Friday, July 10. For more information, and to register a vote, go to www.lotterygoodcauses.org.uk/awards or call 0844 686 8020.

The three projects in each category with the most number of votes will go through to the finals of the Awards and another round of public voting later in August.
