A school girl came up with a rubbish way of raising money for charity.

Overton Grange School pupil Georgia Simpson, 18, raised more than £350 for two charities by putting on a fashion show with a twist - all the outfits were made out of rubbish.

Dresses made from newspapers, outfits created from crisp packets and much more were on display when Miss Simpson and her friends put on a trash fashion show to raise funds for the Prada Willi Association UK and Simukai Children's Protection on Thursday, November 22.

Miss Simpson, who arranged the event as part an A-level project, said: "I opened it up to all the year groups at school and they made entries.

"There were dresses made from bin bags, newspapers, magazines, crisp packets - anything they could get their hands on really!"

The event, held at the school, also featured a raffle with prizes including designer sunglasses and a meal at Nando's as well as music from teenage singer Abby Lewis. It raised a total of £352.24.
