To mark Holocaust Memorial Day 2013 pupils are being invited to take part in a special design competition.

Students are being encouraged to create a piece of work based on the theme for the January 27 memorial day, called Communities Together - Build a Bridge.

Those entering the contest can take inspiration from the past and present to create their designs - celebrating difference and aspiring for respect for all.

Any pupil in primary and secondary education can enter in one of the following categories: Poster or T-shirt design, Poetry and Photography.

All entries must be submitted to the council with a single entry form, clearly displaying the name of the school, entrant and the chosen category.

This should be submitted or posted to Events Office, Staff Yard, Battersea Park, SW11 4NJ by January 27.

Prizes will be awarded to the winner and runner-up of each category, with the winners being announced at a prize giving event in February 2013.

Teacher resource packs are available by visiting the Holocaust Memorial Trust website, http://education.hmd.org.uk.

For more information, conditions of entry and to enter the competition call the Events Team on 020 8871 7534, email holocaustmemorial@wandworth.gov.uk or visit www.wandsworth.gov.uk/holocaustmemorialday.
