A café constructed out of shipping containers, a polytunnel and allotments have been opened on a university campus.
University of Roehampton and Roehampton Student's Union are celebrating the opening of the first part of the Growhampton project on Monday.
The £226,900 project has created the café, which is open to the public and will use food grown on campus, and a polytunnel and allotments, run by a full time worker.

Future Growhampton developments will see students encouraged to use areas of the campus to grow produce and learn about growing. A bike hire scheme will be launched and the university is working with Wandsworth’s Regenerate organisation to provide environmentally sustainable meals to sell.
Wade Tomlinson, Roehampton Students’ Union president, said: "Growhampton will have a direct benefit for staff and students, but also for Roehampton residents through the advice available online and by picking up tips from the café.
Constituency MP Justine Greening cut the ribbon to official launch the café, constructed from former shipping containers with tables made from scaffolding boards and apple crates and seats from bottle crates.
