Schoolchildren in Wandsworth have been given 3,710 free tickets to the Olympic Games tickets.

The Mayor of London's ticket bonanza saw thousands of children awarded the tickets under the Get Set Ticketshare scheme.

Schools in Wandsworth who joined the network were told yesterday which sports they will be going to watch.

Youngsters will be seeing a variety of games, including sports in the Olympic Park, Wembley Stadium and equestrian events in Greenwich.

Chairman of the London 2012 Organising Committee Sebastian Coe said: "The opportunity for young people to see world class sport close up is something that was a core part of the bid and this summer thousands will be rewarded for their commitment to living the Olympic and Paralympic values by having a chance to be part of the Games."

London Mayor, Boris Johnson, said: "We’re heading into what will surely be the most exciting and inspiring summer of sport this country has every seen, and it is only right that the capital’s young people are at the heart of the action."
