Harlequins lock George Robson insists his side are readying a big response after seeing their six-game winning streak ended – with Worcester Warriors about to bear the brunt at 'Fortress Stoop', writes Sam Wakefield.

Quins fell to only their third defeat of the season as they went down 21-18 to a Stephen Donald inspired Bath, which made it just two wins in their last five Aviva Premiership games.

Their last run of patchy form, which saw consecutive defeats to Saracens and Exeter Chiefs, was followed by two impressive Heineken Cup wins, including a 40-13 thumping of Biarritz, and their recent streak.

But with Worcester set to travel to a rocking Twickenham Stoop tonight, where Quins have lost just once all season, Robson has called on his side to make a big impression on a team high in confidence after their 12-3 win over Saracens.

“We are pretty cool with what went wrong against Bath and we have been really looking forward to the chance to set it right,” he said.

“What is good about us is that when we lose we tend to learn very quickly and if someone gets the better of us we make it right – so I am expecting a big reaction from the boys.

“Worcester aren’t the side they used to be where they weren’t able to get results away from home – they have been playing some good rugby.

“But it’ll be good getting them at the Stoop, ‘Fortress Stoop’ we’re calling it now and on a Friday night we’re looking forward to it.

“We’ve got some lads coming in to bolster the front row and with the conditions as they are I don’t think they’ll be looking forward to facing us.”

Quins’ defeat to Bath was also the second game on the trot where the Aviva Premiership champions failed to register a try to add to their 26 from the opening eight games.

But despite terrible conditions making ball carrying more and more difficult as it gets wetter, Robson, pictured right, claims a lack of tries is not a concern and backed his side to keep faith with their playing style and return to winning ways.

“We’re not worried. Our attacking stats have been pretty good in other areas and it is just one of those things, obviously the conditions do make it harder,” he added.

“We still want to play the way we have done as it has worked for us and we find it is a good way to play – we will still be looking to score tries and do as well as we can.

“It is the same as it ever is. The forwards win the game and the backs decide by how many.”
