Coach Kemp insists there is more to come from his Wimbledon charges

Wimbledon RFC coach Nathan Kemp has emphasised consistency as the key area for improvement in the second half of the London Division One South season.

Tries from Leon Driscoll and Gary Crowe, and three Neil Hallett penalties, saw Wimbledon to an uninspiring 19-6 win over Beckenham, and while Kemp admitted his side were not at their best, he insists more is to come.

He said: “We coasted the second half and at 15-0 we were looking to kick on and get a bonus point, but that did not happen.

“But I’ve got players in my side capable of playing higher and we’re one of the fitter sides, so that’s not an issue.”

He added: “But being consistent is the difference. We need results to go our way for the rest of the season and we’ll be working hard this week to put things right.”

Wimbledon travel to Sidcup, who are just one place below them in the table, this weekend and Kemp knows it will be a tough match.

“They pushed us around the park earlier in the season, and we need to change that this time,” he said.
