Brentford 2 Bury 2

Brentford recorded their third consecutive 2-2 draw at home when they drew with Bury at Griffin Park on Saturday.

Facing a side battling relegation which had clearly come to defend, the Bees twice took the lead, but failed to hold onto it both times.

Brentford started brightly, with Tom Adeyemi breaking into the box and seeing his low shot blocked for a corner.

Midway through the half Adam Forshaw broke down the right and his cross into the six yard box was well cut out by Trevor Carson.

A rare chance for Bury at the other end came when Zac Thompson shot wide of the left hand post from 25 yards out.

A quick break by the Bees saw Adeyemi feed Shaleum Logan on the right but his cross from the right was volleyed high over the bar by Marcello Trotta.

Bury then saw Thompson's cross from wide on the right cut out by Simon Moore, while Clayton Donaldson fired wide for Brentford just before the break.

Brentford made the breakthrough seven minutes into the second half when Donaldson broke down the right, found Logan, whose cross to the back post was headed home by Harry Forrester.

Yet the Shakers drew level a quarter of an hour later when Tom Soares latched onto a long ball out of defence and fired past Moore.

The Bees replied almost immediately when Bury failed to clear a corner and after the ball pinged around the Shakers' box, Trotta stroked it home only three minutes later.

However, Brentford's defence was caught out again by another long ball when Logan was exposed and allowed Soares to cross from the left for Nicky Ajose to glance the ball past Moore.

Despite their best efforts the Bees failed to find a way past the stubborn resistance of their opponents and were forced to settle for another draw at home.
