All to run for in the Downs League for the Kingston youngsters
Kingston AC & Polytechnic Harriers youngsters are in prime position for a clean sweep of medals going into the final round of the Downs League.
After Sunday’s third round meeting, the Harriers lead all three younger age categories from U11s to U15s.
Jorge Beltrao led the U11s home in 11 minutes, eight seconds to keep Kingston at the top of the table.
Olly Wilson (11:27), Darcy Bourne (11:32), who was also the first girl home, and Daniel Merighi (11:32) completed the four-to-score team, keeping them 12 points clear overall.
Bourne, who has now won all three rounds, leads the girls’ individual rankings by three points.
The U13s team title belongs to the Harriers bar the shouting as they hold a 75-point lead going into the final round.
Sam Shaw (12:07) won the U13s race, but Harriers’ dominance saw six runners finish among the top 10.
Michael Brazil (12:23) took second, Aaron Bruce (12:29) and Mollie O’Sullivan (12:40) took fourth and fifth respectively, with Ben Paton (13:00) in seventh and George Chaplin (13:21) in 10th completing the super six.
Both Shaw and O’Sullivan also lead the individual rankings.
In the U15s group, Harry Reynolds (11:09) took top spot to keep Kingston at the table’s summit – he was ably supported by Neil Wellard in third (11:12) and George King in 10th (12:51).
The team are 42 points ahead of their nearest rivals, Sutton Runners, going into the March 10 finale.
Individually, Reynolds and clubmate Lucille Fletcher, who was second girl on
the day in 13:22, top the rankings.
