Neal Ardley praised his patched-up Dons for surviving a "horrible, tough game" against Mansfield Town to earn a point from a 0-0 draw at the Cherry Red Records stadium.

Skipper Alan Bennett and Harry Pell were absent with injury, while Sammy Moore was missing with suspension.

Charlie Sheringham, Jim Fenlon and Luke Moore came into the side, with Barry Fuller moving into the centre of defence to accompany Andy Frampton.

However, it was Ross Worner in the Dons goal who took the headlines with a second half display of excellent goal-keeping.

Ardley said: "I am not going to dress it up that we played well. It was a horrible, tough game.

"Ross made three great saves though, which was really pleasing, and we did not buckle. We have kept a clean sheet and that was a positive after a difficult second-half. We did not play well, but we stayed resilient.

"We have a group of boys who will give everything."
