The fast action around the Plough Lane stadium, Wimbledon, focuses on the London Championship of the open-wheeled Superstox cars continues.

Jason "Super" Cooper is the favourite to continue his dominance in the oldest of the Spedeworth formulas.

He was by far the most dominant driver across all of the stock car formulas, winning 28 Superstox races in 2013, 14 of them to win finals.

With a new year, the multi-champion’s 2013 record is mere history, as all the drivers start again with a clean slate.

Cooper now has to prove himself once more, which he is more than capable of doing.

To show that fast pace and success are in the Cooper genes, younger sister Sarah also races in the Superstox formula to a consistently high level, often leaving the lads behind.

The championship will be decided on the evening with two reverse grid heats, and then a top point scoring front row leading the pack away in the final.

As well as the Coopers, look out for the eventual winner to come from possibly either Glenn Salmon or Matt Carberry.

Last time out on Boxing Day, the 1300cc Stock Cars were in lively form, where visiting driver Dan Rosenthal ended up taking the London Championship out of the capital.

This week they begin the new season long competition, with round one of the Print 4 U series.

In the historic saloon stock cars, former Brighton Basher banger driver, Gordon Coull, is consistently blitzing the rest of the field.

On current form, Coull looks to be the certain winner of the night’s racing.

Things are a little more complicated in the junior rods as they begin their new series of the GT Cambridge competition, without 2013’s big winner.

Ruislip’s Tyler Wilkin is now too old for the youngster’s formula and has moved to the 2l hot rods.

Without Wilkin, the contest opens up for the likes of Mitchell Souter from Slough, and Ben and Albert Grant from the Sussex coast.

With the Bangers having a night off, it will be speed all the way, with the first race starting at 5:30pm.
